Even if your swing was a little rusty, your drive would still be longer than ever before!

Can you imagine a drive who´s impact is felt in Asia?  How?   By providing meals, education, and shelter for needy children through HIS1040´s Let´s Help the Children Campaign.

A fleet of boats-men spend a day landlocked: We want to thank the machinists, yachtsmen, welders, scaffolders, bankers and lawyers who made this tournament happen. Bide-a-Wee golf course was so glad to see a sold out tournament! You can imagine that in times like these, they don´t sell out just any sunny day.

But what´s all the buzz all about with this tournament?  These professionals are into more than just making money, they are pulling together to use their places of position to improve the lives of others. Business people from across Hampton Roads participated in this golf tournament, not because they had extra money to let go of, but because they made a choice to support a cause they believe in together with other business people they know and respect.

Peer Spotlight Special thanks to Orphan Helpers, another peer non-profit organization that we really appreciate who also brought out a team of players.  Kudos!  Thanks to all for participating.  You can contribute to the Let´s Help the Children Campaign throughout the year to impact children´s lives in the most needy areas of Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Thailand, China, India, and the Philippines.

Reaching UPG’s In The Philippines

During the first week of 2009, the Lord opened a door for me to go to the Southernmost part of the Philippines. A ministry partner had invited me to come to their Annual Workers Conference.   It was my first time to be with them although we have been in partnership with them since 2002.  I did not know I was up for a big surprise, a very pleasant one!

This network could be named "Sharing His Amazing Love with Muslims" (SHALOM), because that  is the very essence of their focused calling. 40 leaders strong and mostly  women; I was very impressed with the quality of workers they have.

These  are college and master´s degree holders who are not only  academically prepared, but they are even equipped with ministry tools for  their adopted culture and lifestyle.  Although they´re not from Muslim  backgrounds, they have adapted their orientation, culture and mind set for  their context. They dress like and live with Muslims and incarnate the love of  God in their context.  They have even stopped eating pork.  Now that is a  huge sacrifice for any Filipino!
